CD Launch

Not In Our Name 

Raise Your Banners 2007 is proud to launch a brand new compilation CD of folk songs about the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan. 

The CD called “Not In Our Name” produced by David Ferrard, features some of the finest names in contemporary folk music:

 Roy Bailey, Mark Erelli, Dick Gaughan, Eliza Gilkyson, Pat Humphries & Sandy O, Robb Johnson, Jose, Jez Lowe, Amy Martin, Rory McLeod, Jim Page, Leon Rosselson, David Rovics, Seize The Day, and David Ferrard.

Many of these artists will be playing at this year's Raise Your Banners, where it will be available for a special festival price of £10.  All the artists have donated their material to this not-for-profit album with proceeds going to Stop The War Coaltion UK.  You can also order the CD from: www.songsforchange.com

On 10/11, 5.30 at the Alhambra Studio, ( to the rear of the Alhambra theatre), is a reading by Adrian Mitchell, Andy Croft and Keith Armstrong.

SALAMANDER brewery in Bradford is supporting Raise Your Banners with a special brew, called – you guessed it - Raise Your Banners.  The golden ale at 4.5% abv was first tried out in the Castle on the last weekend in April and was a great success.  It is available throughout the Festival.
